Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS) announced that its step-down subsidiary, IDL Explosives Limited, has been granted an Industrial License (IL) under the IDR Act, 1951. This license authorizes the manufacturing of Cyclotetramethylenetetranitramine (HMX) with a capacity of 50 MTPA and Trinitrotoluene (TNT) with a capacity of 500 MTPA. The license is valid for 15 years from its issuance date and pertains to manufacturing activities at specified locations in Rourkela, Odisha. Mr. Karunakar Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo Micro Systems Limited, stated that this is a significant strategic milestone, enabling the company to meet the needs of both industrial and defence explosives. He highlighted that the license validates their technical expertise and adherence to safety standards. It strengthens their ability to meet captive requirements for high-energy defence explosives and creates opportunities to serve growing domestic and international demand. This milestone positions IDL Explosives as a domestic supplier of high-energy materials, supporting India's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and creating potential export market opportunities.
