Allied Blenders and Distillers Limited (ABDL) has received a favorable judgment in a trademark infringement suit filed against Batra Breweries and Distilleries Private Limited and others. The Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, vide its judgment dated February 04, 2026, decreed the suit in favor of ABDL. The lawsuit, filed as CS(COMM) 551/2023, sought a permanent injunction to restrain the defendants from using the mark “Principal Choice”. The court has granted a decree of permanent injunction in favor of ABDL, effectively prohibiting the use of the disputed mark by the defendants. ABDL has voluntarily relinquished its claim for damages, legal costs, or any other form of costs associated with the litigation. The court's order specifies that the suit is decreed in terms of prayer clauses 54(a), (b), and (c) of the plaint.
