Akzo Nobel India Limited has received an order from the Gujarat GST Department on January 9, 2026, concerning a show cause notice issued on October 3, 2025. The notice pertained to the disallowance of ISD input tax credit for the period April 2021 – March 2022, under section 73 of the CGST/SGST Act, 2017.

The company had previously responded to the show cause notice with supporting documents. However, the Gujarat GST Department, after reviewing the reply, issued an order dated December 31, 2025 (received by the company on January 9, 2026, at 1:30 pm). This order imposes an aggregate demand of ₹8,82,508/-, comprising ₹7,84,099/- as tax and ₹98,409/- as penalty, with interest applicable as per regulations.

Akzo Nobel India is currently reviewing the order and will respond within the indicated timeframe. The company had initially disclosed the show cause notice on October 4, 2025. This update is in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
