Akzo Nobel India Limited has received an order from the Bihar GST Department concerning a show cause notice issued on 10th September 2025. The initial notice related to the period April 2021 – March 2022 and had proposed a demand of ₹23,03,936, comprising tax, interest, and penalty. The company submitted its response with supporting documents within the stipulated time. Following this, the Deputy Commissioner of State, Patna, Bihar GST Department, issued an order dated 26th December 2025, which was received by the company on 28th December 2025. The demand amount as per this new order has been significantly reduced to ₹2,29,984, including tax of ₹1,20,846, interest of ₹79,138, and penalty of ₹30,000. Akzo Nobel India is currently in the process of responding to this order within the indicated timeframe, as it remains open for further submissions to the relevant authorities. This update is in continuation of the earlier disclosure made on 11th September 2025 regarding the pending litigation.
