Akzo Nobel India Limited has received an order from the Bihar GST Department concerning a show cause notice issued on 24th September 2025. The notice, pertaining to the period of April 2021 to March 2022, disallowed ISD input tax credit under Section 73 of the CGST/SGST Act, 2017. The initial aggregate demand amounted to ₹8,22,423, comprising tax of ₹4,79,547, interest of ₹2,94,922, and penalty of ₹47,954.

The company submitted its response with supporting documents. Subsequently, the Joint Commissioner of State Tax, Patna Special Circle, Bihar GST Department, issued an order dated 26th December 2025, which was received by the company on 9th January 2026 at 1:45 pm. The revised aggregate demand in this order is ₹8,29,615, consisting of tax ₹4,79,547, interest ₹3,02,114, and penalty ₹47,954.

Akzo Nobel India is currently reviewing this order to prepare a response within the stipulated timeframe, as the order is open for further submissions to the relevant authorities. This update follows a previous disclosure on 25th September 2025 regarding the initial show cause notice.
