Akzo Nobel India Limited has received an order from the Gujarat GST Department on December 26, 2025, concluding a previously disclosed litigation. The company had previously received a Show Cause Notice on June 27, 2025, from the Gujarat GST Department for the period April 2018 – March 2019. This notice pertained to the issuance of a duplicate E-way bill against the same invoice under Section 74 of the CGST/SGST Act, 2017, with a demand of ₹4,36,279, comprising tax, applicable interest, and penalty. The company had responded to the notice with supporting documents within the stipulated time frame. Following a review of the company's reply, the Superintendent of Ahmedabad, Gujarat GST Department, issued an order dated December 23, 2025, which was received by the company on December 26, 2025. As per this order, the entire tax demand, including interest and penalty, has been completely dropped. This update is in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and SEBI circular SEBI/HO/CFD/CFDPoD-1/CIR/2023/123 dated July 13, 2023.
